For anyone looking for a Final-Fantasy type of experience (Super Nintendo), this is a great purchase. The story is well thought-out. The music supports the game incredibly well. The dialogue is excellent. All in all, this was a very pleasant gaming experience. Some cons: -As was already mentioned here, the game could really use a minimap, and some sort of objective list. It was sometimes fairly difficult to find a small city that was supposedly North-West. It was even worse when I didnt remember where I was supposed to go, as I had no way of reminding myself. -I find that the "random" battles were sometimes a little repetitive and happened a little too frequently. However, you always have the "Flee" option, which seemed to work every time. -The game is "To be continued", which I dont mind at all if IT IS ACTUALLY CONTINUED! Some people in this discussion have complained about the use of RPGMaker. I have no clue what this is. To me everything (characters, monsters) seemed to be very well designed. If youre just an average-type games, the RPGMaker comments would not apply to you. Overall, this is definitely one of the better RPGs in the app store. I actually find it better than Chaos Rings, which won "Best RPG" or whatever it is. Chaos Rings is pretty to look at , but doesnt compare in terms of story, dialogue, music and overall feel.

For an oldschool rpg gamer I cant help but enjoy it. The "random" battles are pretty annoying tho seeing as how theyre hardly random. Never gotten more than 12 steps in a dungeon without being pulled into battle. A bit unbalanced Ill go through a dungeon getting messed up by normal enemies then the boss doesnt pose a challenge

Great story - only kept grinding to keep up with the story! Cute graphics and excellent spelling/grammar. Now wanting Ash 2 so I can feel that the story is complete. Never did like "to be continued" storylines. But well worth my $5 still.

this is one of my fav game:D one of the only i played for hours(non-stop) without getting bored(especially because i love the storyline) but im wondering if ash 2 will go out someday...coz i just cant stand with an unfinished story :l

Easily the most fun out of a game on my phone. I stopped playing modern warfare because I would rather play this when I got into it.

This game is ridiculously good, I enjoy every aspect of this game, please make another and keep everthing similar!! The control pad takes some getting used to... Buy this game if you like RPGs.

I have found myself disappointed with many of the RPGs for iPhone. I found this one a enthralling.

A good RPG in general, especially considering its portable! The storyline is intriguing, backed up by noticeable character development and creative dialogue. The battles could use some added difficulty, however, especially as you near the end of the game. I quite enjoyed this game overall.

This game is actually quite fun. But has some things that really need work. 1. Inventory system and item stats are glitchy 2. Game is short and you Max out at level 40. (happens quickly) 3. THERE IS NO ENDING. If you play the game, it goes from cLimax of the story to credits. After the credits it goes to to be continued. I liked this game a lot, until I reached the end. Then I felt cheated, they are charging 5 bucks for an incomplete game. If they updated and added a significant amount to the game, then its worth it, otherwise youll spend hours of fun with it then be sorely disappointed.

Great 16 bit RPG gaming. Really great story. Good music. Simple interface and battle system is as basic as it gets. My only gripes are maybe that the game is just too linear, but for a iOS game thats alright. Theres no overworld map, but you can find one on the developers website, so that was fine. Otherwise I was quite entrapped for more than a week. It didnt keep track of hours of play but I assume it was over 30 maybe even 40. Not sure though.

This is the best portable RPG Ive seen in years. There was one a long time ago, Ive forgotten the name but it was written in Eastern Europe for the Palm and this is the first one since then that compares very favourably. I absolutely love it! My only complaint has been that theres no world map and I cant find Stanton but I notice one comment says theres a map on the website so Ill look there. Glad to know level 40 is the highest level; I keep wondering why Im not going up any further! Ill certainly buy Ash 2.

When are you going to make ASH 2?!?!?!?! Please make it soon!!!

Solid RPG. I want iPad or at least iCloud support to sync my saves.

What a fantastic treat! I believe Ive played around 5 hours or so (game doesnt seem to have a clock to say this) and still only have the 2 main heroes. Im hoping to get a third soon, as my party is level 11. Gameplay is reminiscent of old school 16 bit RPGs. Combat is turned based, similar to Final Fantasy 10 and Dragon Quest. Fantastic sound and writing. Great RPG!

Really solid old school rpg, though the lack of an in game map is a pretty severe oversight...

I downloaded this app not thinking much of it, looking for a decent RPG. As soon as I started playing, I got hooked. I absolutely loved the story line, was in awe of the attention to details with the interactive environment, as well as the witty humor. ;) not a short game either, i played it for quite some time now on and off. Cant wait till I have enough memory on my phone to download the sequel! :D

I love this game, i bought it last week and i got so hooked on it that i finnished it already. Great job with this title. Gonna start with part II now:D

This game is one of the best RPGs on the app store. Very well written and has the feel of a good old 16 bit RPG.

Very well done, good RPG, just what I had hoped to find. Easy but interesting. Retro RPG feel with innovative battle system. I would like to check the opponent stats, but oh well. Humorous touches throughout add value, and the storyline is amusing, cohesive, and relevant. I gave in and bought the sequel ahead of time, and I am looking forward to that one as well. I will follow this series and the developers other releases as well :)

Excellent old school 2D RPG , by far one of the best ones out for the iphone. Im a fan of Dragon quest and NES-SNES era Final Fantasy and this one is spot on the old school feel. The storyline is very good too , no girly sim-dating stuff here . Overall , it a 9 out of 10!!
