Such a fun game! Theres one point that searching a certain bookcase crashes the game but thats as easy as not searching it! Awesome solid rpg fun!
A little on the easy side the second time through!
This game is great in so many ways. I love the characters and the interactions they have. Ultimately just a really well made and enjoyable game!
Good story, boring battle system.
Only issues are the controls and the weak battle system.
Must have for any old school RPG fan.
Fun rpg with a compelling story. I want the sequel ASAP!
Very compelling story - every time I had to stop playing I couldnt wait to pick it up again to find out what happens next! Lots of good comic relief story wise and humorous easter eggs you can find through exploration. The combat can be boring if you arent fighting tough enemies where you need think tactically. But, thats my only complaint! I will be checking out the continuation of the story in Ash II right now. Hopefully its as good!
I played about halfway through this game about a year ago and loved it. My itunes glitched out and deleted it and my saves. Decided to redownload when i got a 4s. Something has gone terribly wrong. Enemies ONLY attack Damien. 100% of the time. No exaggeration. In an hour of playtime Nicholas has not been attacked ONE TIME! Has crashed on me a couple times as well.
Reminds me of dragon warrior in a small way for the NES.
I am 30 years old and I dont play WoW. I like RPGs that make me care about the characters and their struggles, games that deliver the setting and story seamlessly within the characters own experiences. Ash delivers. Easily worth the asking price. There ARE combat issues - enemies make bizarre targeting choices. But the authenticity of the characters and the confidence and seriousness of the plot make up for any glitches. Ill be downloading chapter 2 today. :)
I wont lie: I was a little disappointed with the ending but I get that it sets you up for Chapter II. Im almost tempted to buy the next game—almost. This chapter of Ash has its ish. For instance, the game crashes if you tap the upper right corner of the screen (in play mode) twice. And then there are times when you see a treasure chest that you cannot open. These bugs aside, if you are a fan of old-school JRPGS, you should get this game.
A must play for all fans to the genre . I just beat the game the story is inconclusive but luckily I already have ash II silver version . The story is intriguing and with a few comedy lapses that make this game fun.
I am not usually a big fan of these style RPGs, but after all the good things I heard I had to try it. This game is great! Good story and very well-written dialogue. Everyone should try this game!
Simply a quirky tale. A bit generic at times, however there is a quality of genuineness in each of the characters; albeit a bit cookie-cutter. The random battles can get a bit tedious, and the game overall is not challenging. However, there is just enough charm in the story and dialog to keep you interested.
Boring story, bad skill system, bad enemy scaling, bad content gating, and so on and so on. I had high hopes for this one.
When you search for "jrpg" in the app store, it brings up a lot of games that arent. This one is. Final Fantasy style gameplay at its best. There are a few problems, like glitches that crash the game or take your in-game money without giving you the item (if you buy multiples of the same thing), and the virtual D-pad is too small. But the biggest problem is I wish it were longer. Fantastic.
Too easy to grind to level cap, using simple repeated techniques.. Very fun game though
This game has some excellent writing and funny moments. Nice progression with weapons, spells and items. Wish it were a bit longer and the ending is one of the biggest cliffhangers Ive seen. :)
