Good game, could be longer though but at least the price is right!

Writing is excellent. Gameplay is quite good. Difficulty spikes and way too many random fights but those are my only complaints. I love it and have put at least 8-10 hours so far.

I often love games from small-team studios. Im only an hour in, but I can already see evidence that SRRN is probably a relatively small developer -- evidence both good and bad. I could be wrong though! Ash has a lot of issues and minor glitches and such, clearly not professionally debugged, but for me this fault is WAY more than made up for by its charm. It has way more good, fresh ideas than the average big corporation game, it has waay better writing than the average RPG, it has really interesting (not way too professional) artwork both as detailed drawings and small sprites, and it doesnt hold your hand like most modern RPGs (big world map to explore where its easy to get in over your head ... I miss that kind of stuff from early Dragon Warrior games and such). I really want to see what happens to Nicholas and the red-haired guy, both very likeable characters, in a world where something strange is happening to many people. Oh, I like Ashs world, where at the beginning anyway the enemies are stuff like people with dishonorable professions, rats and dogs, rather than fantasy monsters, and your party makes an effort to "incapacitate" rather than kill. Dont misunderstand, I know big company games can be phenomenal, but in my eyes they usually lack the soul of a beautiful game like Ash. While Ash is not currently my favorite iOS JRPG ... in fact that honor belongs to a rather big release involving fantasy and dimensions published by an *ahem* enormous, extremely well-known corporation ... Ash does seem special, and very worth playing, and I fully intend to enjoy the whole thing. :) edit: ... And I did. ;) (enjoy the whole thing) All my early impressions proved accurate in this fine game. Ash is a fairly short game but has plenty to it to be easily worth the $1. It kept up the quality level throughout ... I love the story and the writing especially, including the humorous stuff when I search containers and such. I wonder how many pages of writing this game contains. Ash has more glitches than the average iOS game (probably an understatement), but I only found one bad one (the crash when searching any one of several containers in one room of a boat).

Great story, gameplay, and writing. Loved every minute of the many hours I spent playing this game.

The game was fun, but the difficulty curve was more of a roller coaster. Usually, it was too easy.

I totally agree with blaze. Great game but definitely needs a quest log hands down so you can keep track of what your doing and where you need to go. Especially if your like me and dont get the chance to play a game on your iPhone every 5mins. Next it needs a map badly. At least for the world map, it can even be a map that only shows places you have been. With out those two you need to reduce the random battles on the world map. Its just to big to travel around everywhere looking where you need to go and also trying to uncover everything at the same time. Its definitely a great game, it could use a quick update is all :)

Seriously. ADD A MAP. Wandering around aimlessly trying to find the next town youre supposed to go to is more than frustrating. Youd think a game this great would have something so crucial and standard to this genre. DOINK!!!!

Been looking all over for an rpg with an old school feel that I loved growing up.

I like this game alot but its the first rpg I played at the App Store and I own alot its real challenging but lots of fun I dont know what this other chapters thing is but I hope try make a few more this is a good series!

The game is good, the story is good, however, it really needs some type of quest log and map.

I played this game for 7 hours straight and beat it. Everyone complains about so many random encounters but they are needed for the end. Story line was beyond amazing. I cant wait for the next one to come out. The ending after the end was the final piece that made this game worth the time took playing it. I recommend it to everyone who loves this style of game.

Much more humorous than the usual jrpg, strong game play. Loved it.

This game really takes me back to the old school NES/snes games. Best part is that the bad elements of those games have been removed and there is a game speed option that eliminates the grindiness of it

My major problem with the game is that battles take way too long due to my characters and the enemies dodging and/or shrugging 80% of attacks against them off. It makes for very slow and boring battles that make me feel like Id rather be sleeping. Also, if the controls were a lot bigger or movement could be activated by swiping the screen Id be happier. Otherwise, the graphics are great and the story isnt bad. I ended up deleting the game before the end of the first dungeon. Man. I wanted to like this game.

Really like the game. Its engaging and really fun!

This game has an amazing storyline sprinkled with great humor. Top notch mobile phone gaming. Just really bummed that part 2 is not available and my whole life will have a cliff hanger for ever.
